Classroom Management

In addition to substantial professional knowledge and effective instructional practice, learning comes from a safe and enriching learning environment. Part of the learning environment involves a consistent classroom management plan. Every new group of students brings a new set of parameters for classroom management. At the core of my classroom management style, I want my students to have a voice within the learning environment, which will in turn give them a sense of ownership over their own education and classroom environment. With this sense of ownership, I will enforce clear and consistent rules that focus on developing a student’s character and citizenship skills.

Artifact 1: I enforce clear and consistent rules that focus on developing a student’s character and citizenship skills by using a behavior chart.
  • Every morning the class will do a dance from gonoodle.com and each student whose card had not been moved the day before is awarded a sticker. *Sticker Chart for Good Character

Artifact 3: A homework pass awarded to students for good character once 20 stickers have been earned.
