While having strong instructional delivery is critical to a successful lesson, the bottom line is did the students learn? Quality assessments integrated with quality instruction is the secret to learning. My assessment style is based on using pre-assessments, formative and summative assessments combined with constructive and frequent feedback. Performing a variety of assessments guides instruction and helps students know what is expected of them, supports their learning, and allows them to demonstrate the mastery of the skills they need to be successful.
